IBHT offers three Qualifications in Education for therapists to wish to become Educators. These courses are all about your passion for your therapy and gaining the skillset to deliver your knowledge and expertise to the next generation of therapists.

There are a number of core teaching skills that are taught through five core modules. In order to become a competent teacher you will firstly gain an understanding of the principals of learning, teaching and training and how they apply to real life classroom situations. Furthermore, you will develop your skills in lesson planning, course development. Technical instruction in how to design learning resources to support varied learning needs in the classroom will also be provided.
This course also teaches the use of assessment and evaluation strategies, how to communicate effectively and manage disruptive behaviour and how to apply the principals of reflective practice to developing your own professionalism. These skill sets will be developed through the course and through your teaching experience.
The teacher of this course, Aiden Kelly, has a wealth of experience and knowledge and is there to support your learning goals and aid you in becoming a tutor. Aiden is contactable through-out your course by email giving you support, direction and feedback.
Unlike other teaching qualifications the City & Guilds 1106 Level 3 Advanced Diploma in in Teaching, Training and Assessing Learning is designed to enable qualified therapists to teach courses offered by a wide variety of awarding bodies e.g. ITEC, VTCT, City & Guilds, CIBTAC, CIDESCO, FETAC in colleges across the country.

Course duration
8 days over 8 months:- 1 Sunday per month; plus 1 hour MCQ Final Exam (date set by City & Guilds)

Assessor Training (Course 2)
Course 2 Assessor Award
Once qualified as a tutor you can then progress to assessing. This gives you the ability to fairly assess your students’ work against any of the awarding body’s set standards. You'll gain the skills needed for collecting and judging evidence of competence whilst helping and guiding students to improve their practical skills, knowledge and understanding.

Progression path: Internal Verifier (Course 3)
Course 3 Internal Verifier
The role of the Internal Verifier is to check and make sure that all assessors’ judgements are standardised, accurate and legitimate. The Verifier is at the heart of the quality assurance of competency based qualifications, both on behalf of the awarding body and within the quality and management systems of any training centre.
