Linen: 1 Navy Pillow Case, 1 Navy Fitted Sheet, 2 Navy Bath Towels & 2 Navy Bath Sheet (if you can’t get navy, dark blue or black)
Stationery: Clipboard, pens, pencils & highlighter markers
Uniform: Black Tunic top, Black Trousers, Black (flat with enclosed toes)
Sundries: Recommended reading, oil for home use, wipes

Information
This qualification is suitable for those who are already qualified in massage, level 3 sports massage or working in related fields such as osteopathy, physiotherapy and chiropractic.
This specialist qualification includes advanced anatomical, physiological and pathological principles; advanced palpation skills; analysis of posture & range of movement and massage techniques to prevent and manage injury in sport and active leisure.
You will gain experience in a Sports Clinic and learn extra important techniques of bandaging & strapping that are essential for any professional sports massage therapist. This course equips practitioners with a range of advanced skills and massage techniques to prevent and manage injury in sport and active leisure.
Qualification Structure
- Practical anatomy and physiology for sports massage
- Understand the relevant anatomy, physiology and pathology of massage
- Be able to palpate structures of the musculoskeletal system
- Be able to analyse posture and range of movement
- Understand the effects of massage methods on the body and mind
Applying massage methods to prevent and manage injury
- Be able to work within agreed standards of practice
- Be able to assess clients, plan & evaluate the effectiveness of massage methods
- Principles of exercise, training, stretching, injury prevention & management
- Healing process, inflammation, scar tissue, adhesions and skin injuries
- Preventative and rehabilitative training
- Specific Sports Massage techniques
- Treatment of injury, pre-event, during/between event, post event, corrective, preventative, conditioning massages
