The study and practice of Beauty Therapy dates back to ancient times, Cleopatra was famed for bathing in milk to help keep her skin pale, soft and supple. The ancient people, men and women, used oils, perfumes and eye paints in their everyday life. When we think of Cleopatra we think of her legendary beauty and her stunningly kohled eyes.Modern Beauty therapy stems from this glorious past. The study of Beauty Therapy can lead to a highly rewarding and successful career. Employment opportunities can range from working in a salon, spa, department store, Steiner cruise ships, mobile therapist or owning your own business, the sky is the limit!

This is a career where you will meet and treat all kinds of people, helping them to look and feel their best. This career offers a great deal of satisfaction by making your clients feel fabulous, beauty therapists are always learning new skills and are the first to know about new products and treatments.What is involved?
During your course you will have to attend both practical and theory classes according to your time table. During the theory classes you will learn all the fascinating underpinning knowledge you will need to know in order to perform your treatment safely. During the practical classes you will get the opportunity to preform your treatment on your class mates and gain valuable feedback from your tutor. At an advanced stage in your course, when you have mastered your treatments, you will be partaking in the student clinic days. On these days you will be able to perform your treatments on real members of the public in a realistic working environment, under the supervision of your class tutor.How can I study?
This is really up to you! What time do you have to dedicate to studying for your new career; we have a course option for you:- Full time course (Monday to Thursday)
- Part time course 1 (Monday & Wednesday evenings 7pm-10pm)
- Part time course 2 ( Full day Saturday 10am to 5pm)
Modular study- this is when you only study one or two aspects of the Beauty Specialist Diploma at a time. This is becoming increasingly popular as it permits students budget their training expenses; allowing them to enter the work force sooner, whilst working towards their full Diploma.

What are the entry requirements?
There are no formal entry qualifications; we are looking for passion not points. You will have to attend an interview, and tell us why you are passionate about beauty and why you wish to study beauty therapy. We expect excellent attendance and punctuality throughout your course and that you complete all case studies and home assignments on time.What can I do next?
Once you have achieved your Level 2 Diploma in Beauty Specialist Techniques; you will be able to progress on to Indian Head massage, Holistic Massage, Aromatherapy, Diet & Nutrition, Reflexology as well as specialised Beauty courses like Threading, Advanced make up, Gel nails, Acrylic nails.For more information on Beauty or to book a training course please contact IBHT
