Items you will need to provide
Linen: 1 Navy Pillow Case, 1 Navy Fitted Sheet, 2 Navy Bath Towels & 2 Navy Bath Sheets (if you can’t get navy, dark blue or black)
Stationery: Clipboard/Pens/pencils/highlighter markers
Uniform: Tunic, Black Trousers, Black (flat with enclosed toes)
Sundries: optional additional products for home practice as required
Employment Opportunities
This is an introduction to the aromatherapy industry, working in a salon, clinic, spa or form home incorporating the use of essential oils in into your existing skill set e.g. Beauty Specialist, Indian Head Massage therapist or Reflexologist. On completion of this course you may wish to delve further in to the fragrant world of Aromatherapy and progress to the level 3 Diploma in Aromatherapy.
Information
This stepping stone qualification is the perfect introduction to Aromatherapy, allowing you to gain foundation knowledge on the uses and effects of a limited number of oils. How to blend these oils for delivering basic aromatherapy treatments to the Face, Neck , Head & scalp, Hand and lower arm, Foot and lower leg safely and efficiently.
According to ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics and Chinese manuscripts, priests and alchemists were using essential oils thousands of years ago to heal the sick. They are the oldest form of medicine and cosmetic known to man and were considered more valuable than gold to the ancients.
The Basic Aromatherapy techniques course consists of the following: Clinic services & Business awareness, principles and practice for the complementary therapist, Health, safety and hygiene, A&P with pathology and providing Aromatherapy.

- Knowledge, understanding & skills to prepare for and carry out an aromatherapy massage treatment
- How to prepare self, client and work area for aromatherapy
- Consultation & professional skills and how to interact with clients and staff members
- Treatment planning, recommendations and adaptation of treatments for clients
- Knowledge of contra-indications and how to adapt treatments accordingly
- How to perform a treatment within a commercially acceptable time
- You will learn about 42 essential oils their names, uses, and safety factors
- How to blend essential oils; creating a synergistic blends
- You will learn about 19 carrier oils, their names, uses and safety factors
- How to blend them with essential oils
- You will learn about different methods of delivery of essential oils, inhalation, immersion, topical treatment
