1. Are the courses full time or part time?
We offer one fulltime course which starts in September every year.

All the rest of our courses are part time (mornings, evenings or weekends).

2. How many students per class?
For diploma courses we allow a maximum of 12 students per class. For CPD training classes are limited to 8 students. This ensures quality of training.

3. Do I have to be a certain age to study at IBHT?
Our full time and part time courses are suitable for anyone from 16 to over 60!

4. What level of education do I need in order to study beauty & holistic therapies?
There are no entry requirements to study at IBHT. It’s all about passion...not points!

After discussion at interview stage we will determine if the course you are interested in is suitable for you. We can advise you on what courses are best suited to you based on your experience to date, motivation, learning ability, career objectives & long term goals.

5. Are payment plans available?
Yes. You can pay for your course up front at the start of your training or you can avail of a payment plan. This will be discussed with you at interview stage and a suitable payment plan will be put in place for your convenience.

6. How do I book onto a course?

with any queries about your specific course of interest. To apply simply complete a diploma application form and return to us. We do recommend that you attend for a meeting in IBHT to discuss the courses of interest to you and your options.

7. How much work is involved in each course?
The amount of work varies from course to course and this will be discussed at interview stage. However, for all professional diploma qualifications your must complete a portfolio of work - home assignments, case studies, written assessments, practical assessment, reflective practice on your experience throughout the training.

8. Do I need a computer in order to study?
Yes, access to a home computer is required for all students as portfolio work must be typed. If this is not possible you can of course discuss this at your interview stage. Fulltime students are required to bring a laptop to college. All students also must have an active email account as a lot of student information and updates are sent from our office/tutors via email. IBHT also use social networks such as Facebook and Twitter.

9. If I studied a related subject previously at another college do I have to repeat the modules again?
This will depend on the course you have already studied and the course you wish to study. We do offer RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning). For example, if you wish to study massage and already hold your level 3 Diploma in anatomy & physiology, you do not need to attend A&P class or sit a final A&P exam again!

10. Are the Tutors at IBHT qualified and experienced?
Yes. All of the tutors at IBHT are qualified and have many years of experience in their area of expertise. They all hold an international diploma in teaching. This ensures excellent standards of training.

11. Are the courses at IBHT suitable for people with special learning requirements such as dyslexia, poor literacy skills or English as a second language?
Yes. At IBHT we adopt the learner –centred approach to teaching. At interview we will determine if the course you are interested in is suitable for your needs. Once you are accepted on the course and you are motivated and dedicated to your learning, your tutor will work with you to help you achieve your qualification.

12. What career opportunities are there after I complete my course at IBHT?
Many beauty graduates of IBHT go on to work in established salons or spas, work on cruise liners or set up their own business. Others have gained employment as sales representatives with cosmetic companies or sales assistants in cosmetic departments of large retail stores, pharmacies or make-up outlets.

Other therapy graduates often work in health/holistic centres, nursing homes, palliative care centres, hospitals, salons/spas or set up their own business.
Teaching Graduates gain employment in many establishments such as private colleges, VEC’s, third level institutes.

The more qualifications you have, the more successful you will be! The experience, confidence and professional approach you gain at IBHT will help you achieve your well-deserved career!

13. Are the courses at IBHT internationally recognised?
Yes, all professional courses taught at IBHT are accredited by international awarding bodies – ITEC, VTCT, FHT, City & Guilds. Any qualification from these awarding bodies can travel from country to country as they stand up on the international educational framework.
